Welcome to Kid's Point, an after school program to engage elementary students and their parents. Join librarians like Mr. Cox and others to supplement your evening with engaging and educational actives. Each week will be a unique activity.
WV Storytelling is a tradition that goes back generations upon generations. The art of passing a story along is Appalachian folklore. These stories are passed along and become rich folklore. We will be doing activities with two books that are collections of those works of folklore: ‘The Tell-Tale Lilac Bush’ and ‘Coffin Hollow’. Christian will share stories and children can volunteer to read excerpts from the two books. We’ll also discuss folklore cryptids such as the famous Mothman of Point Pleasant.
Kid’s Point is open to all elementary school-age children.
