Sit, Stay, Read!

Boost your student's reading confidence with help from the Mountaineer Therapy Dog Association! Reading aloud is great practice and helps to improve the Reader's speed, accuracy and comprehension, but doing it in a classroom setting can feel scary or stressful. An appointment during Sit, Stay, Read! provides a private, relaxed way to practice reading with a gentle, certified therapy dog, (and their adult handler). These furry listeners never judge or interrupt if the Reader mispronounces or stumbles over difficult text - they just love a good story!

Due to the nature of this event, preference is given to young readers aged 5-12, and space is limited.

To Register: send an email to [email protected] listing parent/guardian name, email address and phone, and the name and age of the reader. A confirmation email will be sent in return.
