Slow Down and Read

Based on the idea of SIt, Stay, Read! at our Main branch, this program brings the idea to Mannington.

Thomas loves living at the Mannington Public Library! She gets visits from all kinds of people, treats like dandelions and broccoli, and exercise in our outdoor classroom! One thing Thomas sometimes misses out on is story time. We would like to invite children ages 5-12 to read to Thomas in our new program called Slow Down and Read. This will give children an opportunity to practice their skills to a non-judgmental reading buddy! Please schedule your 15-minute appointment with Thomasina. Tortoises are excellent listeners, and they never rush a story!

Space is limited and registration is required. To register, send an email to [email protected] listing parent/guardian name, email address and phone, and the name and age of the reader. A confirmation email will be sent in return.
